Bonjour tout le monde. Well summer 2023 has been a bit of a whirlwind. The weather has been very unpredictable with heatwaves up to 37 degrees and wind and rain at the beginning of August. There have been many events that we have been prous to take part in. The local rallye club once again hosted rally trials stating from the campsite and using the local roads as a speed trial – with all the proper permission and controls in place of course.
Since the Covid years many of the local fêtes are back up and running. The Fête de Moules at St Maurice Etusson, our commune, where you can get great mussels and chips and sit in the sun with a beer and enjoy with the rest of the village.
There has been the Speed Festival in nearby village of ST paul du Bous where hundreds of festivaliers camped for a couple of nights and listened to their prefered music artists play next to the lake with local stands and of course food and drink manned in part by local volunteers(me included).
There have been a few changes on the campsite and some of our log standing owners have moved on to make room for some lovely new families to enjoy owning a mobile home at Camping la Raudiere.
We also celebrated our longest standing owners of 25 years with a meal and of course Champagne and local Cremant, and probably a bit too much of it.
Well the weather looks promising for september and although this week is a bit quieter on the site the september crowd are arriving this week. And we are looking forward to seeing them.
A tout a l’heure.
